Do you find yourself incapable of making small talk with strangers or certain individuals even if you hold no grudge against them? Do you sometimes feel like devoting every aspect of your being to almost 'complete strangers' even if you are not looking to date them?
Does this happen to anyone except for me? Probably I am the only introvert, intuitive and primarily driven by 'feelings' person who has decided to break out of the carefully maintained shell of 'privacy' to reach out to other individuals like me.
As they say we are "walking contradictions" and being introverts we never like to talk about ourselves much to people whom we intuitively find to be not understanding us and pouring over any particular stranger with 'personal information' if that person gives us the comfort of being 'understanding'. There is also a want for 'mental space' and freedom which we seek in every walk of life may it be work or relationship.
Do I hear in affirmative from some of you?
If I do, please know that although rare, you are not one of your kind. You have others also who share the same fate of being called 'complicated' yet 'warm', 'tender' yet 'headstrong', 'carefree' yet 'fastidious', 'frank' yet 'mysterious', 'charming' yet 'repulsive', 'altruistic' yet 'self-centered', 'hospitable' yet 'reserved'; in other words my friend, we have highs and lows very often.
While it is good to know ourselves, we also have a constant need to discipline our minds so as to give away those 'self created hurdles' which more often than not give us 'choked sensation' and make it difficult for us and people related to us live in peace. It is also needed to bring out the best in ourselves, because we are extremely sensitive, respect others' needs (including privacy) and capable of moving mountains if driven by a cause.
We often will find majority of people not following our values and that astounds us and makes us believe that we do not belong to this planet. Whereas, we cannot afford to be ignorant of the fact that the world is a complex combination of 16 personality types in their 'bests', 'worsts' and 'moderates', so it is foolish to expect others to be acting like you and vice versa.
In a nutshell, if we learn to discipline our minds we may completely reverse the present scenario. From 'to be taken care of' we will transform ourselves to 'the caregivers' and isn't 'giving' a very 'strong driving factor' for us? Riches and material success aren't mightier than the 'self contentment' we receive in connecting with people's feelings.
Fact is if we care to know ourselves, our choices in terms of relationship and work will be more prudent when it comes to our mental faculties. And if we communicate effectively it will be easier for the people to relate with us.
